Two pairs of standalone clubs went down to the wire, with a goal after the siren to seal the win in one encounter, while another two teams could not be split at the final siren.

Essendon youngster Elijah Tsatas couldn't have done more to impress coach Brad Scott, after collecting 41 touches, 10 clearances and kicking a goal in the VFL win.

Key defender Jayden Laverde put his name up for consideration with a dominant 32-possession display, while ex-Eagle Xavier O'Neill was pivotal in the big win.

Former North Melbourne forward Tyler Sellers slotted three goals while Matt Guelfi and Alwyn Davey Jnr. both gathered 15 touches and kicked two majors.

Swans ruckman Peter Ladhams will also be in selection consideration, recording 23 touches, seven clearances and 17 hit-outs.

Taylor Adams made a return from injury, gathering 14 possessions and three clearances.

Footscray Bulldogs (80) def. Casey Demons (62)

Veteran defender Taylor Duryea was instrumental in the victory, amassing 32 disposals, eight marks and eight tackles.

Ryan Gardner (24 touches and 12 marks) and Nick Coffield (23 possessions and 13 marks) were equally as good.

Luke Kennedy turned heads after his performance, kicking three goals from 28 touches.

Kennedy was drafted with Pick 62 last year, but could be given an AFL chance, provided his form remains at the level.

Depth ruckman Tom Campbell did everything in his power to draw the Demons close, recording a whopping 41 hit-outs, 10 clearances and 21 disposals.

Project tall Tom Fullarton slotted three goals while Aidan Johnson kicked two himself.

Bailey Laurie's performance was immense, and he could be in line for a senior recall.

Werribee Tigers (77) def. by Box Hill Hawks (93)

Max Ramsden was arguably the Hawks' best in the 16-point win over Werribee.

Ramsden slotted one goal from 19 touches, 28 hit-outs, five clearances and seven marks.

Seamus Mitchell gathered a team-high 29 possessions while forwards Matt Hill and Jasper Scaife slotted three majors each.

Calsher Dear returned to football, kicking one goal from six disposals.

Tigers captain Dominic Brew continues to give AFL clubs something to think about with another stellar performance.

Brew recorded 33 touches, 10 clearances and nine tackles in the defeat.

Fellow AFL fancy Jack Riding was impressive, amassing 23 possessions, seven marks and a goal.

Louis Pinnuck (22 touches and 11 marks) and Anthony Depasquale (three goals, seven marks and 11 disposals) were also good.

Southport Sharks (72) draw with Port Melbourne Borough (72)

Sharks ruckman Brayden Crossley was damning in the midfield, utilising his 50 hit-outs to help the clearance battle.

Crossley also got forward to kick a goal, while collecting 17 touches and six clearances.

Jacob Dawson and Body Woodcock feasted on the ruck dominance, combining for 20 clearances and 62 possessions.

Hugh Dixon led the goal kickers with three majors.

As for Port Melbourne, leader Harvey Hooper was immense, recording 24 touches, nine clearances and five tackles.

Ex-Essendon skipper gathered 29 possessions and five clearances in the draw.

Archi Manton will rue his inaccuracy in front of goal, missing the target on five occasions.

North Melbourne (65) def. by Brisbane (92)

Brisbane youngster Zane Zakostelsky has inched closer to an AFL debut after a strong performance in the VFL, gathering 21 touches, six marks and five clearances in the ruck.

Will McLachlan and Reece Torrent kicked two goals each, while Luke Beecken recorded 30 possessions and nine marks.

Keidean Coleman gathered 15 touches and four marks in his bid to return from an ACL injury.

Mid-season fancy Adam Tomlinson was strong in defence for the Kangaroos, recording 24 touches and 11 marks.

Darcy Tucker and Will Phillips played well, with the latter responding strongly to his axing.

Northern Bullants (76) def. by Collingwood (151)

Collingwood coach Craig McRae will be pleased with how the entire club performed over the weekend, with the VFL side notching a huge victory.

Falling just shy of an AFL debut, Charlie West responded to his missed opportunity with four goals, putting his name well in the frame for senior selection.

Veteran Tom Mitchell returned to the field for the first time since Anzac Day 2024 after multiple injuries. The midfielder played half a football match, gathering 10 disposals, six clearances and four tackles.

Dashing defender Wil Parker was superb in the big win, while Mid-Season Draft fancy Riley Mason put his name in lights after another four goals.

Jean-Luc Velissaris was easily the Bullants' best, kicking three goals from 26 touches and 11 clearances.

John Jorgensen matched Velissaris' efforts with three majors.

Patrick Fairlie found plenty of the ball in the heavy loss.

Carlton (65) def. Sandringham Zebras (47)

Carlton veteran Sam Docherty has pushed his case for re-selection in the AFL side after a dominant display in the reserves, racking up 38 disposals in the Blues' 18-point win.

Father-son draftee Ben Camporeale also pushed towards an AFL debut with 34 touches and seven score involvements.

St Kilda draftee Tobie Travaglia has put his name up for a Round 10 inclusion after collecting 30 disposals, while 2023 draftee Arie Schoenmaker recorded 25 of his own.

Liam MacMahon was the big goalkicker of the day with four, while Saints veteran Zak Jones kicked three in Zebras colours.

Frankston Dolphins (85) def. Coburg Lions (84)

A goal after the siren has seen the Dolphins secure a stunning one-point win after a fourth-quarter comeback.

The Dolphins traield by as many as 20 points in the final term but found a way to charge late, with a contentious holding the ball call awarding forward Blake O'Leary with the game-winning moment.

O'Leary slotted the goal from 45 metres out on a slight angle, securing Frankston's fourth win of 2025.

Coburg's Flynn Gentile recorded 32 dispoals and a goal for the Lions, while Frankston's Darby Hipwell was impressive with 23 disposals and a whopping 16 tackles.

Lions Mitch Podhajski and Kyle Weightman, and Dolphin Matt Johnson all kicked game-high bags of three goals for the match.

Geelong (75) def. by GWS (107)

The Giants remain undefeated in the VFL with an away win over the Cats at GMHBA Stadium.

AFL-listed GWS players James Leake and Conor Stone were valuable, notching 28 and 23 disposals respectively, however Max Gruzewski has asserted his selection status the most with a 4.2 display in front of goal.

Giants draftee Jack Ough was also solid, contributing to a game-high seven score involvements despite not hitting the scoreboard himself.

Geelong's Jay Polkinghorne was one of the Cats' best with two goals and three behinds, while one-gamer Oliver Wiltshire kicked a goal on top of his 16 disposals in a solid outing.

Patrick Retschko also continued to press his AFL debut case for yet another week, recording 24 touches and a goal.
