Further change is afoot at Carlton, with the club announcing the departures of three key members of their coaching panel.

Head of Coaching Performance and Innovation Aaron Greaves and backline coach Aaron Hamill will depart IKON Park, as will Development and Talent Manager Tom Lonergan, who has taken up a post elsewhere.

Greaves and Hamill have held their roles since the end of 2021, while Lonergan, a Geelong Cats premiership player in 2011, has been in the development space at the Blues since the beginning of the 2023 season.

“Our club would like to thank all three coaches for their dedicated contribution during their time at the football club, and we wish them well in their next steps,” Carlton Acting GM of Football, Len Villani, said.

“We will now work through the overall structure of our AFL coaching group going into 2026 and will communicate those updates with our members accordingly.”

It's understood that Lonergan will rejoin Geelong as a part of their recruiting department.

The premiership Cat spent 13 years at Kardinia Park, played 209 games, including the 2011 flag.

The departures follow that of football boss Brad Lloyd in the last fortnight - a time period that also saw fourth-year coach Michael Voss survive a review of his tenability, under new CEO Graham Wright.

With the Blues' offseason now underway, the next six months shape as crucial. One of the league's biggest clubs will look to orchestrate a surge up the ladder after a disappointing 2025 campaign.

It comes as the club is set to farewell ruckman Tom De Koning, who will join St Kilda as a free agent.

De Koning is understood to take up an offer for eight years worth around $1.8 million a season.

Star forward Charlie Curnow has also been linked to multiple rivals amid a period of unrest for Carlton.

It's been reported that Curnow could seek a lifestyle change, and Sydney could be in line to facilitate a move.

"My view is that Charlie is still eyeing an exit from the football club," veteran journalist Caroliine Wilson said.

"I know he has stated that he's not leaving the club… but my view is that the Sydney Swans are shaping up as a possible home for Charlie Curnow."
