Bulldogs star and premiership hero Tom Liberatore will go again in 2026, recommitting to the club on a one-year extension.
Liberatore has added to the list of AFL players dominating in their mid-thirties, with the 33-year-old dropping near career-best numbers across the board each week, averaging 26.7 disposals, 4.5 inside 50s, 6.1 clearances and 5.6 tackles per game this season.
He has continued to be a key figure in the Bulldogs midfield and stepped up majorly in the absence of Marcus Bontempelli early in the season.
Liberatore spoke on Thursday about his decision to play AFL football for a 16th season for the Footscray-based outfit.
“It's a really exciting time at the club, 'Bevo' [Luke Beveridge] has signed on and so has Marcus. Hopefully we can build on that momentum over the next few months and into next year,” Liberatore said.
“It is very special to know I will get the opportunity to play with this group for another season.
“This place means so much to me, having spent much of my life inside the four walls. I'll continue to give back as much as I can for as long as possible.”

Executive Manager Men's Football Sam Power praised Liberatore's work ethic and passion for the Bulldogs, which has made him a much-loved member of the football club.
“Tom is a heart and soul player of our football club, with great respect from his teammates, staff, fans and members,” Power said.
“His consistency and willingness to always put the team first stand out, as does his leadership which has gone to new levels over recent years, helping our younger players excel in the men's program.
“Not only does Tom give everything on the field, but his off-field contribution at the club will leave a legacy, regularly supporting the Western Bulldogs Community Foundation across different programs.
“We're so excited to have Tom commit for another season and hopefully he'll help us continue our search for sustained success at Mission Whitten Oval.”
Liberatore will feature in his 256th game this Sunday as the Dogs take on West Coast at Marvel Stadium.
