Brisbane Lions antagonist Dayne Zorko could face a suspension for his hit on Paul Curtis' groin.

The North Melbourne player took a one-on-one grab on Zorko and as Zorko got to his feet to stand the mark, he struck Curtis' groin with an open hand, which is likely to attract attention from the match review officer (MRO).

It won't materially affect the Lions, given coach Chris Fagan confirmed post game that he suffered yet another calf injury, likely to sideline him for a number of weeks, but would add to a long history of scrutiny from the MRO.

It is likely to be graded as low impact, meaning Michael Christian's determination of whether it was careless or intentional will determine whether he receives a fixed financial sanction or a one-match ban.

Should Christian grade the action as intentional, it would result in a ban.

The incident incurred a 50-metre penalty.

Teammate Jarrod Berry is another who could draw the ire of the MRO after collecting North Melbourne's Dylan Stephens high with a mistimed spoil in a marking contest - but he is more likely to receive a fine than a suspension.

The five time best and fairest has averaged 25 disposals across 2026.
