Brisbane sensation and 2025 Norm Smith Medal winner Will Ashcroft has claimed Zero Hanger's Finals MVP title in a thrilling finish to the series.

Entering grand final week in second overall, trailing only Hawthorn's Jai Newcombe, Ashcroft was one of several players from both Brisbane and Geelong who were in the mix to snatch the crown.

With the season decider having a 2x multiplier on the voting, a possible 40 votes were on offer to the best performing player.

Ashcroft, who had 30 votes from his three games prior to the best-afield performance against the Cats, added a further 36 (18x2) to his total to sit at 66 overall at the end of the finals series.

His captain, Harris Andrews, also polled 36 votes in the Grand Final, but was four votes shy of Ashcroft heading into the clash with Geelong.

Like Ashcroft, Andrews polled in all three of Brisbane's September wins after failing to poll a vote in their qualifying final loss at the Cats at the MCG.

Newcombe, who collected 39 votes in Hawthorn's two wins, held the lead for most of the month, and finished in third overall.

Brisbane round out the rest of the top five, with midfielders Hugh McCluggage and Josh Dunkley finishing on 36 and 21 votes respectively, with Geelong youngster Ollie Dempsey level with Dunkley.

McCluggage polled 10 votes from the Grand Final, being one seven Lions to feature in the votes.

Zac Bailey and Jaspa Fletcher polled 14 votes each, while Dayne Zorko and Lachie Neale both added four votes to their respective totals.

Ashcroft claimed the Zero Hanger Finals MVP in 2024, doing so with 55 votes, four ahead of Neale.
