Greater Western Sydney forward Cam McCarthy has officially been traded to Fremantle.
In the deal, the Giants receive Fremantle's No.3 draft pick in exchange for McCarthy, while GWS have also sent picks 7, 33 and 71 to the Dockers.
“We’re really excited about getting Cam to Fremantle,” Dockers' general manager of list management Brad Lloyd said.
“He’s a talented young player who is a proven performer at AFL level.
“We are really looking forward to seeing Cam pull on a Fremantle jumper in 2017.”
McCarthy was recruited from South Fremantle by GWS with pick 14 in the 2013 draft.
He played one game in 2014, before enjoying a breakout season in 2015, kicking 35 goals in 20 games.
After failing to orchestrate a trade with the Dockers at the end of last season, McCarthy sought time away from the Giants due to homesickness and spent the entire 2016 season in Perth.
