Swans quartet Dylan Stephens, Hayden McLean, Robbie Fox and Will Gould have all signed new deals to remain in the Harbour City, while Kaiden Brand, Sam Gray, Matthew Ling and Malachy Carruthers have not been offered contracts for 2022.
Stephens, a former top five pick for the Swans, is a major retention for John Longmire, with the young midfielder having been closely linked to a move to either South Australia or Victoria.
The 20-year-old has inked a new deal that will see him secured to Sydney for a further two seasons.
Exciting forward Hayden McLean has penned a contract extension that will also see him represent the Bloods for two more years.
McLean has played 22 games for the Swans since making his debut in 2019, booting 16 goals in his short career in Sydney.
Gould and Fox have both inked new one-year deals with the Swans, with the latter making a great comeback to the team after being delisted last year and then added to the rookie list.
Brand and Gray will depart Sydney after two seasons with the club, having had past stints with the Hawks and Power respectively.
Ling played a total of four matches in his career in the red and white, while Carruthers did not feature at senior level.
“I want to thank all four departing players for their efforts during their time with the club,” Swans football boss Charlie Gardiner said, via the club's announcement.
“It has been an incredibly challenging period for players over the past two seasons dealing with all the impacts of Covid, so I really thank them for their hard work and commitment.
“Matt has been with the club for four seasons and unfortunately during that time has endured terrible luck with injuries. He has worked hard on his rehabilitation but has just not been able to find any continuity to train and play.
“We wish Matt, Sam, Kaiden and Malachy all the best for the future."
