Just three games into his senior career and Jacob Weitering is already set to earn a lucrative contract extension.

Fairfax has reported that Carlton will offer the No.1 draft pick a contract extension of up to five years within the next few months.

Weitering has shown class beyond his years in his three senior games and three NAB Challenge games for the Blues in 2016.

He has averaged 19.3 disposals, 7.3 contested possessions, 7.3 marks and 6.3 intercept possessions in his short career to date.

The 18-year-old was awarded the Round 3 NAB Rising Star nomination.
