Geelong have confirmed Tom Stewart is a late out for Saturday's clash with St Kilda.

The Cats defender will miss the match due to a foot injury, with Sam Simpson coming into the side.

"Tommy Stewart sustained a foot injury in a marking contest at Thursday's training," GM of Football Simon Lloyd says, per the club's announcement.

"He's not available this week and we'll consult relevant specialists over the coming week."

Carlton will be without Jack Martin for their clash with Port Adelaide on Saturday afternoon with the creative forward withdrawing with a hamstring issue. Levi Casboult has come into the 22 as his replacement.

Martin will sit out the Blues next two games meaning his 2021 is over. The year has been an injury interrupted one for Martin who injured his PCL in Round 2 forcing him to miss a large chunk of footy.

He is joined on the sidelines by Zac Williams who has re-aggravated his hamstring with the Blues opting to rule him out for the season. The duo now make Carlton's injury list a a lengthy 14-man list.

Harry McKay, Liam Jones and Jack Silvagni are all out from last weeks team and will miss the Blues Round 23 clash with GWS.

The Blues injury list includes David Cuningham, Will Setterfield, Sam Docherty, Alex Mirkov, Caleb Marchbank, Marc Pittonet, Sam Philp, Oscar McDonald and Michael Gibbons. While the returning Mitch McGovern hasn't played since Round 7.

St Kilda meanwhile will be without Tom Highmore for their clash with Sydney with the promising defender replaced by Darragh Joyce.

Highmore will miss with a "hand concern".
