In interesting news for Carlton fans, the club have met with former player Aaron Hamill in relation to a potential assistant coaching role.
According to Sam McClure of The Age, Hamill, who is currently working under Brett Ratten at Moorabbin, is one of a list of targets who the Blues are aiming to bring to the club for next season.
This comes as the club undergoes an external review into their footballing department as the side puts a line through season 2021.
To add to the club's woes, long-time assistant coach John Barker recently departed the club amid personal issues, further compounding David Teague's woes.

Hamill played 190 games throughout his career and featured for both the Blues and Saints over the course of his decade-long stint in the AFL.
Despite being at the Saints since 2011, Hamill would still be welcome at Ikon Park to help get the Blues' resurgence back on track.
Ratten revealed onย Sportsdayย that he was not aware that Hamill had spoken with the Blues.
โIf youโre out of contract then you need security for your own family,โ he said onย Sportsday.
โI didnโt know Aaron had spoken to Carlton, but thatโs his choice and heโs out of contract.
โWe have a few people out of contract, but so do many clubs. Heโs a great St Kilda person and weโll work through that process.
โThatโs the industry, like a player or coach you have to make sure your livelihood is there.
โWeโre happy if people do that, but we havenโt made any decision there. Heโs a great Saints person and been here for a while, so weโll work through that.โ
There is also talk that the club have met with former Richmond player and Hawks assistant coach Chris Newman over a role at the Blues.
Carlton somewhat stemmed the bleeding on Sunday afternoon as they claimed the four points over the Crows at Marvel Stadium.
Add in the signing of star co-captain Patrick Cripps on a bumper six-year deal and things might not be as dire as they seem at Carlton.
