AFLW Giants player Brid Stack was rushed to hospital on Sunday amid fears of a spinal injury after being involved in a scary collision during a pre-season clash against the Adelaide Crows.

The Irish recruit went down in the fourth quarter of the Norwood Oval clash and the end of the match was called off.

The Giants released a statement confirming that Stack was in "the best possible care".

"Unfortunately, Irish recruit Bríd Stack has been taken to hospital following spinal precaution protocols after a collision in a tackle late in the fourth quarter," the Giants said in a statement.

"She's in the best possible care and we will provide a full update when we have further

The 34-year old is playing in her first AFLW season following a successful career in Gaelic football.
