St Kilda forward Lance Collard will front a disciplinary Tribunal hearing on Thursday for his alleged homophobic slur directed towards a Frankston Dolphins player in a Round 2 VFL match.

Collard has strongly denied that he said the slur, instead claiming he used the word "maggot".

The alleged slur is a breach of the AFL's "conduct unbecoming" rule, and will be dissected at the hearing on Thursday, April 9 at 1:00pm (AEST).

It will be the first time an AFL player has been made to front a Tribunal in such a manner.

Collard was previously banned for six games after using a homophobic slur in 2024.

There are calls for St Kilda to terminate his contract if he is found guilty following the disciplinary tribunal hearing.

Collard is currently serving a two-game suspension he received for striking Frankston gun Jackson Voss, which occurred in the same game as the alleged slur.

He is set to be available (pending the outcome of the Tribunal hearing regarding his alleged homophobic slur) in Round 5 against Gold Coast on Sunday, April 26.

Collard has played 15 matches since the Saints drafted him with pick 28 in the 2023 National Draft, but has yet to appear in the seniors this season.
