Sydney captain Callum Mills has been offered a one-match suspension for a "rough conduct" charge on Melbourne's Charlie Spargo.

During the third quarter, Mills attempted to contest the ball, jumping off the ground and coming into contact with Spargo.

The Demons forward was subbed out of the match, albeit confirmed by the club to be tactical.

The Match Review Officer (MRO) graded the incident as careless conduct, medium impact and high contact.

In the same game, milestone man Christian Petracca was fined for careless contact with an umpire ($1,500).

West Coast recruit Liam Baker surprisingly avoided any match bans after his strike to Adelaide midfielder James Peatling's head.

Baker tackled Peatling, and thrust his forearm into the back of the former Giants head whilst he was in a vulnerable position. Peatling suffered no serious injury.

The ex-Tiger was charged with "other misconduct", and fined $5,000 ($3,125 guilty plea).

Baker was also penalised for engaging in a melee due to the incident with Peatling, copping a secondary fee of $3,125 ($1,875 guilty plea).

Adelaide's Riley Thilthorpe, Izak Rankine and Josh Worrell were involved in the melee, and received punishments for their involvement.

As did Eagles players Elijah Hewett, Bailey Williams and Jack Hutchinson.

Worrell ($3,125) and Williams ($5,000) will pay more, given that it was their second and third offences.

Crows captain Jordan Dawson also avoided any meaningful sanction ($1,500 fine) for his strike on Harley Reid, while Rankine was punished for making careless contact with an umpire ($1,500 fine).

St Kilda's Marcus Windhager will also hand over $1,500 ($1,000 guilty plea) for making contact with an umpire.
