The AFL's Match Review Officer has handed down 22 charges from Sunday's Round 8 action, with Sydney defender Lewis Melican receiving a three-game suspension.
Melican has been charged with striking GWS utility Toby Bedford, with the MRO grading the Swan's hit on his opponent as careless conduct, severe impact and high contact.
Those gradings have led to a three-game suspension for Melican, who can opt to challenge the charge at the AFL Tribunal.
An accepted or upheld charge would mean Melican is unavailable for selection for Sydney's upcoming matches against Essendon, Carlton and Melbourne.
A decision from the Swans as to whether they challenge the MRO's charge will be confirmed by Tuesday afternoon.
In the same game, teammate Hayden McLean ($1000 with early plea) and Dane Rampe ($1000) can accept fines for engaging in a melee/wrestle, with GWS pair Toby Greene ($1875) and Jack Buckley ($1000) hit with the same charge.
Meanwhile, a total of 18 charges have been handed down from Sunday's match between Richmond and Hawthorn.
Hawthorn's Nick Watson can accept a fine for an 'obscene gesture' made during Sunday's win over Richmond.
Footage of Watson making the gesture surfaced on Sunday, with the act costing Watson, who can reduce a $1500 penalty to $1000 with an early guilty plea.
Watson is also one of 14 players to be charged for their involvement in melees/wrestles during the game.
Watson ($1875 with early plea), Jacob Hopper ($1000), Hugo Ralphsmith ($1000), Toby Nankervis ($1000), Jonty Faull ($1000), Seth Campbell ($1000 and $1000), Jarman Impey ($1000), Changkuoth Jiath ($1875), Blake Hardwick ($1875 and $1875), Josh Weddle ($1000), Jack Ginnivan ($1875) and Rhyan Mansell ($1000) have been charged with engaging in a melee/wrestle.
James Sicily ($1000 with an early plea) and Tim Taranto ($1000) can accept fines for instigating a melee/wrestle.
