Gold Coast young gun Ethan Read has avoided suspension for an act of rough conduct on Bombers rookie Saad El-Hawli during the fourth quarter of the Suns' 95-point beatdown of Essendon on Wednesday night, with the MRO grading Read's reportable offence as having careless conduct, low impact and high contact.

However, Read has been sanctioned with a significant $3,000 fine from the MRO, which can be reduced to $2,000 with an early plea.

Two other players were fined during the AFL's home-and-away season closer, with Suns forward Bailey Humphrey and young Bombers defender Archie Roberts deemed to have engaged in a wrestle with each other off the ball during the second quarter.

As it was Roberts' first offence, and he has been offered a $1,500 fine by the MRO, which can be downgraded to $1,000 with an early plea.

Humphrey, however, has been given a $3,125 sanction for his involvement, which is his second offence. The fine can be reduced to $1,875 with an early plea.
