Newly-minted West Coast midfielder Deven Robertson has been handed a one-match suspension for rough conduct on Port Adelaide's Zak Butters.

The 24-year-old slung Zak Butters to the ground in a football act in the third quarter of Sunday's engrossing contest, and has seen the action graded careless conduct, medium impact and high contact - a combination that denotes a one-week layoff.

No word has been forthcoming from the Eagles as yet, as to whether or not they will challenge the grading, but should the charge be upheld it would be unfortunate news for Robertson. The former Lion who is starting to hit his straps in his new colours, posting career best averages for disposals, tackles and clearances with greater responsibility than was afforded him in Brisbane.

The victim of Robertson's tackle, Zak Butters, has claimed the unfortunate distinction of being the first AFL player to rack up $50,000 in fines, after he was charged $1500 for engaging in a melee. That fine can be reduced to $1000 with an early plea, but either way, he has 'beaten' the similarly aggressive Toby Greene in their race to the milestone.

Eagles co-captain Liam Baker was handed the same sanction for his role in that same scuffle.
