Collingwood forward Beau McCreery could receive a sanction from the AFL's Match Review Officer for a dangerous tackle from Thursday's win over Fremantle.

A second-term tackle on Dockers defender Karl Worner could earn the ire of the MRO, with the nature of McCreery's actions potentially warranting a reportable offence.

McCreery took hold of Worner atop his side's attacking goalsquare and rotated his opponent before taking him to ground, with Worner's head making contact with the turf.

Worner remained on the ground for some time before getting to his feet and taking a free kick, with McCreery penalised for a 'dangerous tackle' offence.

Worner was able to continue in the match, but McCreey may still receive some attention from the MRO.

The tackle is likely to be graded as 'careless' conduct and 'high' impact, given McCreery's actions and Worner's head hitting the ground, with the level of impact to decide the extent of the MRO's penalty.

A 'low' grading would see McCreery handed a fine, while a 'medium' grading or higher would result in a suspension for the Magpies forward.

A one-game suspension would mean McCreery is unavailable for next Saturday's clash at the MCG against Adelaide, and would next play in Round 11 when Collingwood meet with North Melbourne at Marvel Stadium.

The MRO's findings from Thursday's match will be handed down on Friday evening.
