Two Hawthorn young guns have each been disciplined with a fine for incidents occurring during their 14-point loss to Adelaide last night.

Jai Newcombe has been cited with careless contact with an umpire, with the incident taking place during the fourth quarter. The sanction will put the 24-year-old $1500 out-of-pocket, being his first offence, but he can accept a $1000 fine with an early plea.

Jack Ginnivan has been charged with making an obscene gesture post-match, showing his middle finger to the Crows faithful as the Hawks left the ground. As it is his first offence, Ginnivan can also accept a $1000 fine with an early plea.

Ginnivan was well aware the fine was coming his way, taking to social media to declare that giving the finger was the "best coin spent".

He was back to his unruly best on Friday despite the loss, registering 20 disposals, two goals and six score involvements. His fourth quarter was clinical, booting a goal from the pocket seemingly out of nothing to put the Hawks in control, quickly followed by another expressive celebration from his bag for the South Australian crowd.

Newcombe had a quieter match to his standards but still managed nine clearances for the game.
