Melbourne defender Steven May has been sent directly to the tribunal to learn his fate for his bump on Carlton forward Francis Evans on Saturday night with the AFL set to argue for at least a three-week ban.
The Match Review Officer graded May's incident as careless conduct, having high contact and severe impact.
May and Evans were hunting an uncontested ball mid-way through the third quarter when the collision between the two players occurred. After Evans arrived at the ball first, May continued his run and made high contact with Evans on the way through. Evans was subbed out of the game shortly after with a bloodied nose and concussion.
Blues recruit Nick Haynes also received a sanction from the MRO in the Melbourne-Carlton clash, given a $1500 fine for tripping Demon Matthew Jefferson in the fourth quarter. With an early plea, this fine can be reduced to $1000 as it is Haynes' first offence.

Swans forward Hayden McLean and Kangaroos defender Will Dawson can each accept a $1875 fine with an early plea for engaging in a melee in the first quarter of Sydney's 31-point win over North Melbourne.
Justin McInerney has also been handed a fine of $1500, or $1000 with an early plea, for misconduct against North Melbourne's Tom Powell.
Similarly, Seth Campbell has been punished for his misconduct against Harley Reid in the other Saturday night fixture, receiving a $1500 financial sanction, which can also be downgraded with an early plea.
The MRO found no sanction-worthy issues in the Hawthorn-Port Adelaide game at UTAS Stadium.
