The AFL's Match Review Officer has handed down two charges from Thursday night's affair between Carlton and Brisbane, with Blues midfielder Adam Cerra to see the outcome of his charge for careless contact with an umpire determined at the AFL Tribunal.

Cerra collided with a field umpire immediately after a ball-up in the second term of the game at Marvel Stadium, with the match official floored as Cerra moved backwards from his opponent.

The incident was anticipated to add three offences against Cerra's record over the past two years, with the Blues star already receiving one charge of careless contact with an umpire this year and two more in 2024.

The AFL confirmed last week that players with four careless contact with an umpire offences in a two-year period could be directed to the AFL Tribunal.

The MRO has decided to refer the fourth incident to the AFL Tribunal, which will decide the level of punishment against Cerra.

Cerra could face an increased fine or a suspension given his record. A one-game ban would rule Cerra out of playing against Melbourne next week.

Meanwhile,  Brisbane gun Zac Bailey has been charged with rough conduct on Carlton's Nick Haynes.

Bailey has been handed a one-game suspension, with his actions graded as careless conduct, medium impact and high contact.

An upheld suspension would see Bailey ruled out of playing for Brisbane in Round 19 when the Lions clash with the Western Bulldogs at the Gabba. Bailey would then be free to play next in Round 20 against Gold Coast.

No other players were charged from the Round 18 match.
