Carlton's George Hewett narrowly avoided any layoffs following his strike on North Melbourne ruckman Tristan Xerri on Saturday.
During the third quarter, Hewett was caught by the Match Review Officer (MRO) striking Xerri, which was his third indiscretion for the season, resulting in a huge fine.
The MRO graded the incident as intentional conduct, low impact and body contact, constituting a $10,000 ($6,250 guilty plea) fee.
Hewett's teammate Oliver Hollands also received MRO scrutiny, and will hand over $1,500 ($1,000 guilty plea) for careless contact with an umpire.
St Kilda tagger Marcus Windhager was also sanctioned by the MRO for his questionable tactics on Collingwood star Nick Daicos.

Despite some distasteful acts, such as knees to his hamstring and body hits well off the ball, Windhager was charged with a strike in the first quarter, resulting in a $1,500 ($1,000 guilty plea) fine.
Windhager's teammate Jack Macrae will also need to hand over some money after running into an umpire during the second term.
Macrae had already been fined three times before Saturday's incident, and will now hand over $5,000 ($3,125 guilty plea) fine.
Pies forward Dan McStay was also sanctioned for tripping Nasiah Wanganeen-Milera in the victory over St Kilda.
McStay will pay $1,500 ($1,000 guilty plea).
Port Adelaide's Sam Powell-Pepper also received extra attention from the MRO for his strike on Sydney's Nick Blakey in the first quarter.
Powell-Pepper will pay $1,500 ($1,000 guilty plea).
Earlier in the round, Geelong's Mark O'Connor was the sole offender from Friday's clash against Brisbane for his careless contact with an umpire ($1,500).
The night before also saw Essendon skipper Zach Merrett receive the same punishment for the same crime as O'Connor.
