Glenelg's Latrelle Pickett is a lively 180cm small forward who has emerged as a likely draft selection as a mature-aged talent.

Pickett finished the season with a bolt and has most clubs interested in his services as a small forward thanks to his speed and innate goal sense.

The cousin of Melbourne livewire Kysaiah Pickett, Latrelle shares many of the same traits, having high impact per possession and the ability to tear a game open with lower disposal numbers.

Overlooked for Port Adelaide's NGA, the mature-aged Pickett returned to a high standard of footy this year as part of Glenelg's program. While he mostly played in the reserves team, it hasn't prevented most clubs from keeping a keen eye on his development.

So strong and long has the interest in this South Australian bolter existed that there were even questions over whether he would have been picked up in the Mid-Season Draft if he was eligible.

In 18 SANFL reserves games, he kicked 32 goals and averaged 12 disposals, bringing high-end speed every game and proving electric and creative as a small forward.

He managed only three senior games, including a four-goal haul on debut, but there is a strong belief that his upside is sky-high. And for those that weren't convinced, a four-goal reserves grand final performance provided a clear synopsis of all the skills and athletic traits that have him favourably considered.

Where does he land? Don't be surprised if he rockets into the first round, given his athletic profile suits modern footy, and his rawness and upside could be worth taking a punt on in a weaker draft for a club seeking a point of difference in their front half.
