Victorian Hussien El Achkar is a 171cm forward from the Calder Cannons and is tied to Essendon as a product of the club's Next Generation Academy.

The Pascoe Vale junior kicked 35 goals this year across his commitments with the Cannons and Vic Metro, with a three-goal haul against the Allies a highlight performance.

He started his CTL season in style, booting 10 goals by Round 3, while a six-goal haul midway through the year against Sandringham was another feather in his cap.

At times wayward in front of goal, El Achkar would often make up for any inaccuracies with his ability to change a game in an instant, whether that be through his forward craft or pressure in the front half.

With a move to Essendon likely, El Achkar will look to follow in the footsteps of fellow Dons NGA graduate Isaac Kako, who was able to have an instant impact in his maiden season at AFL level.

El Achkar, however, will be afforded time to strengthen his craft early in his career, with Kako set to hold the title as Essendon's first-string small forward for the years to come.
