A 42-prospect squad for Western Australia's 2025 U18s National Championships carnival has been unveiled, with familiar surnames as well as West Coast and Fremantle-tied teenagers among those named.

The squad consists of 34 primary players and eight train-ons, with the latter contingent mostly made up of bottom-age prospects.

Claremont lead the way with 10 players named in the squad, headlined by utility Cody Curtin - te brother of Adelaide's Dan - and Charlie Banfield - the son of West Coast champion Drew.

South Fremantle have the next most with seven selections - three of which are train-ons - with midfielder Fred Rodriguez arguably the best name out of Western Australia heading into this year's National Championships.

Rodriguez and Curtin are joined by fellow AFL Academy members Koby Evans and Wes Walley, who are both tied to West Coast as NGA prospects.

Bulldog Toby Whan and Peel's Basil Hart are among Fremantle's NGA crop for 2025 who have been selected.

Among the train-ons, West Perth's Koby LeCras, who is the nephew of West Coast premiership forward Mark, is among the top names for the 2026 AFL Draft out of WA.
