On the first day of every month throughout 2025, Craft of the Draft will drop an updated and expanded prospect power rankings, taking into consideration a combination of form and potential.

Due to 1 June coinciding with the first game of the U18s National Championships, the June list has been delayed until June 2.

This edition is the third released, with nine club-linked players, including Gold Coast Academy prospect Dylan Patterson, who is the big mover.

Others in the mix

There are plenty of players knocking on the door. Carlton father-son Harry Dean's stocks continue to rise and he wouldn't look out of place on the list as a marking defender.

South Australian wingers Harley Barker and Matt LeRay are both athletic, dangerous-kicking hard workers, while fellow Croweater Mitch Marsh's stocks continued soaring with a four-goal game for SA on Sunday.

There is plenty to like about Bendigo utility Hunter Wright, Richmond father-son midfielder Louis Kellaway, Gold Coast Academy midfielder Koby Coulson, interceptor Xavier Taylor and Essendon NGA duo Adam Sweid and Hussien El Achkar, who were all considered.

2. 20th-16th

20 - Toby Whan
South Fremantle, half-back/midfielder
The Fremantle Dockers-linked midfielder/half-back has been ultra-consistent to start 2025, which has propelled him into first-round discussions. Despite missing a couple of games with a minor hip injury, he is one of the most in-form players in the WAFL U18s competition. Has power at the source and a damaging left foot, which he uses to open the game up and effectively deliver inside 50. Is composed in the contest, provides overlap and sees the game well.

19 - Tom McGuane
Western Jets, midfielder
The clean, ball-winning midfielder continues to lead the Western Jets midfield with excellence. Is unlikely to feature heavily through the Vic Metro midfield but has the smarts and adaptability to impact the game wherever he plays. Hard working, light on his feet and smart, the Collingwood father-son prospect has several ways of hurting opponents.

18 - Sam Cumming
North Adelaide, midfielder
Has spent most of the last month playing school footy before a quieter start to the U18s National Championships. There's a desire to showcase what he can do forward of the footy, and he proved he could impact in his most recent SANFL U18s game, kicking four goals and proving a difficult matchup given his one-on-one strength. He also spent some time forward for the AFL Academy, and is a known ball-winning midfielder, having taken out the SANFL U18s MVP last year.

17 - Beau Addinsall
Gold Coast Academy, midfielder
You know what you're going to get from Beau Addinsall: a professional, fundamentally sound operator with an exceptional fitness base and knack for finding the footy. Others will feature on more highlight reels, but few would be able to match his extraordinarily high level of consistency across the past three seasons. A 17-disposal, seven-clearance game to start the National Championships followed three Coates League games averaging 32 disposals.

16 - Louis Emmett
Oakleigh Chargers, forward/ruck
The Scotch College student and Oakleigh Chargers tall is viewed in the top echelon of talls this year due to a combination of his work rate, athleticism, skill with ball in hand and marking capacity, which makes him a prototype modern-day 199cm player. The source of great intrigue is whether, at his height, he ever becomes a first-choice ruck at the next level, given it is where most of his best footy has been played in the talent pathway. Having shown it sporadically for Oakleigh, his forward craft was on full display in the second AFL Academy game against Coburg.
