The Crows fan who slapped Easton Wood has been banned from the Adelaide Oval for the rest of the season.

The male fan who reached over the ground’s fence and slapped the Bulldogs’ captain on the bottom, is not a Crows member and the ban has been applied by the Ovals’ Stadium Management Authority.

The club and the SMA conducted an investigation to identify the man “who is not a club member and had borrowed the ticket from an acquaintance.”

“The SMA has banned the person involved from attending AFL games at Adelaide Oval for the rest of the season,” the club added in a statement.

“The Crows member who lent their ticket is extremely remorseful the incident occurred and has received a warning from the club.”

While the Adelaide Football Club encourage their members to pass on their tickets if they cannot attend matches, they have issued a notice to remind ticket borrowers about responsible behaviour while attending games.

Wood said he was surprised but not hurt by the incident.

“My preference would be to be able to go to work and not get slapped on the arse by a complete stranger.

“I’ll be fine and hopefully it doesn’t happen again,” he said on Channel Seven’s Game Day.
