Sydney midfielder Taylor Adams is facing an extended period on the sidelines after suffering a partial tear of his Achilles.
The ailment arose at training last week, with the 32-year-old undergoing scans in recent days that have since confirmed the unfortunate setback.
Adams will be placed in a moon boot for the coming weeks before eyeing a return to training in January.
"Sydney Swans midfielder Taylor Adams suffered an Achilles injury at training last Friday," a club update read. "Scans have confirmed a partial tear of his Achilles.
"He will be in a moon boot for several weeks before recommencing recovery and training in January."
Adams has endured a luckless run with injuries since moving from Collingwood to Sydney at the end of 2023, managing just four games in the red and white this year.
The one-time All-Australian played 19 matches in his first year with the Swans, with ongoing hamstring concerns since limiting his capacity to play.

The setback to Adams follows a recent hamstring injury to captain Callum Mills, who was sidelined for the early periods of pre-season and will look to return to training in the new year.
Sydney will hope to have the likes of Mills and Logan McDonald back in full flight for the new season, with the latter having missed the entire 2025 campaign due to an ankle injury.
The Swans have a short turnaround to their season opener, hosting Carlton at the SCG on Thursday, March 5 to commence the new AFL campaign.
