Southport star and former Gold Coast midfielder Jaob Dawson has claimed his long-awaited J.J. Liston Trophy as the VFL's best player, while Darebin's Ange Gogos was crowned the 2025 Lambert-Pearce Medal winner.
Dawson enjoyed another stellar season with the Sharks as their leading ball hunter, playing an integral role under Matthew Primus that has seen the Queensland outfit book another grand final placing.
The win for Dawson comes after multiple close finishes in the count, having been runner-up in 2022.
He also took out the Coaches' MVP title at Monday night's awards ceremony, his second title after doing so three years earlier.
The 25-year-old ended his evening with 28 votes, having polled in 14 games this year to finish the count five votes ahead of Casey's Riley Bonner.
Reigning J.J. Liston Trophy winner Dom Brew finished in third with 21 votes, ahead of young AFL-listed talent in Brisbane's Deven Robertson (18 votes) and Hawthorn/Box Hill's Henry Hustwaite (17)

Gogos polled 25 votes from her 13 games for the Falcons this year, adding to her tally in 11 of those matches.
She would finish four votes ahead of Essendon's El Chaston (21 votes) and North Melbourne-Werribee's Maddie Di Cosmo (19) on the podium.
Like Dawson, Gogos also took out her competition's Coaches' MVP gong, doing so tied with Williamstown's Emily Eaves.
Frankston youngster Tom Blamires won the heralded Fothergill-Round-Mitchell Medal as the VFL best young player in his first season with the Dolphins.
Blamires departed Sandringham at the end of last year in favour of a move to Frankston, where he has enjoyed a breakout campaign as a hard-running flank option.
Other finalists for the award included Fergus McFadyen (Brisbane Lions), Tobyn Murray (Geelong Cats), Massimo Raso (Richmond) and Harry Scott (Richmond).
Collingwood's Tahlia Sanger took out the Debbie Lee Medal as the VFLW's Rising Star, doing so ahead of my Trindade (Carlton), Hayley Peck (Geelong Cats), Nyakoat Dojiok (North Melbourne-Werribee) and Abbey Tregellis (Sandringham).
The league also confirmed the 2025 VFL Team of the Year, and the 2025 VFLW Team of the Year.
