West Coast has confirmed that star ruckman Nic Naitanui has ruptured his anterior cruciate ligament and will require a full knee reconstruction, which will likely keep him out of the game for the next 12 months.
Naitanui suffered the injury during the third quarter of the Eagles' win over Hawthorn on Friday night.
It is a huge blow for West Coast leading into the final campaign and a bitter pill to swallow got Nic Nat, who only recently returned from a foot injury which kept him sidelined for six weeks.
