Richmond and Carlton are reportedly among several clubs interested in GWS ruckman Tom Downie, according to AFL.com.au.

Downie has played just the one game this season, for a total of nine senior games for the Giants since making his debut in 2013.

He has been in brilliant form in the NEAFL this season, but has been unable to break into the side due to the dominance of Shane Mumford and the emergence of Rory Lobb.

However, he is understood to be a required player at the Giants, but may seek a fresh start at the end of the season in order to gain more opportunity at senior level.

Downie has averaged six disposals, 2.3 marks, 3.7 tackles and 19.6 hitouts per game in his short career.

He was selected with pick No.56 in the 2011 National Draft.
