It will be an intriguing battle this one. Port are in disastrous form, losing to Carlton the last time they played. However, Sydney have lost two of their biggest stars in forwards Kurt Tippet and Lance Franklin to suspension. The loss of two key big men will bridge the gap between the two sides, but it's still difficult to see the Power beating the Swans at the SCG.

Hawthorn has won the past seven against the Pies, scoring an average of 130 points each time. Collingwood had a narrow loss to Freo in Perth last week, but lost no admirers, with a truly gusty performance against arguably the league's best side. Hawthorn will be without key forward Jarryd Roughead, after having a skin cancer removed on Wednesday, which will be a big loss. We're tipping an upset here, with Collingwood to cement their spot in the top four with another impressive performance after an eight day break, compared to Hawthorn's six.

Despite sitting ninth at 7-5, GWS are no chance of playing finals. That might sound ridiculous given the form they have displayed at times this year, but recent injuries, notably Mumford's season-ending ankle injury, means they are severely undermanned. Richmond will be far too strong and have won their past three games playing some impressive footy.

It is one drama after another with the Suns this season this season, and the latest one involving Harley Bennell is the worst of the lot. They welcome back Gary Ablett this week, but having not played since round two, he will take a few weeks to find his rhythm. North Melbourne should have a very comfortable win at Metricon.

Carlton has been surprisingly goof of late, winning two in a row under caretaker coach John Barker. The Blues should should continue to play their new found free flowing footy, but the Doggies will be wary and properly prepared to conquer any such enthusiasm.

TIO Stadium, 7.10pm
Melbourne's win against Geelong will be the stuff of legend in years to come. It will fill the team with the confidence they need to begin the slow climb up the ladder over the next few years. However, it won't start just yet, with the Eagles sitting second on the ladder, playing some great footy of their own. West Coast has won its past seven games against Melbourne by an average of 70 points.

Essendon is another club in crisis and desperately need a win, for the fans and for coach James Hird's career, which could be over at season's end if results don't improve. St. Kilda is clearly well off the best teams, but the Saints' young kids have shown that they are not as far off as we all thought. The Saints have played some great footy at times this year and have taken it up to some of the best sides. They could inflict further pain on the Bombers on Sunday.

Geelong will be furious after the loss to Melbourne Simonds Stadium. Expect the Cats to come out firing with no fear, having beaten Port at the same ground just a few weeks ago. Both sides would desperately love a win to keep their finals chances alive, with just one win separating the pair on the ladder. We're tipping Geelong to get the chocolates in a slight upset.

Fremantle has been sluggish of late, despite sitting top of the ladder with only one loss. The Dockers last three weeks have yielded one loss and two wins by nine and seven points. The Dockers should be able to play themselves back into some form against the 17th placed Lions, who have only averaged 51 points per game since 2011 against Fremantle.
