The days and weeks following the announcement of the All-Australian team, there is always plenty of debate over which unlucky players who missed out should have been included or which players didn't deserve a spot.
Following last night's announcement, we have picked our second XXII All-Australia team, made up of players who had a stellar season, but did not feature in the official 2017 All-Australian side.
Greater Western Sydney small forward Toby Greene, despite his indiscretions, kicked 41 goals and further established himself as one of the best small forwards in the competition, yet could not get a spot in the final 22.
Sydney captain Josh Kennedy was instrumental in his side's form reversal, averaging 28 disposals per game, including seven 30+ disposal games from round eight, seven clearances and 16 contested possessions.
North Melbourne's Ben Brown was also unlucky to miss, kicking 63 goals to finish third in the Coleman Medal race.
Geelong's Mitch Duncan enjoyed the best season of his career, averaging 29 disposals from 21 games, while teammate Zach Tuohy was brilliant off half-back for the Cats adding much needing pace and run and carry out of defence and could have easily found a place in the side.
However, it is an unenviable task the selectors face and it is tough to mount a case to take out any of the players included in the side by the selectors.
