With the All-Australian team set to be announced tonight, we've named our team of the year from the 40-man squad which was released earlier this week.

Sydney has dominated our side, with four players (Lance Franklin, Dan Hannebery, Josh Kennedy and Luke Parker) making the cut.

Max Gawn, who was the only ruckman named in the AFL's 40-man squad, takes the ruck spot, while Brownlow Medal favourite Patrick Dangerfield is named on the ball alongside Kennedy (SYD) and Parker.

The top four goal scorers in the league, in Josh Kennedy (WCE), Lance Franklin, Eddie Betts and Tom Lynch (GC) have all been selected in the forward line. Cyril Rioli, who kicked 44 goals for the season, is on the half forward flank, with his pressure without the ball also hugely important inside 50.

The backline features three of the best key backmen in the league this season, in Daniel Talia, Alex Rance and Robbie Tarrant, while Corey Enright, Matthew Boyd and Heath Shaw wouldย provide important run and experience out of defence.
