BACKLINE

Jayden Short

Despite being on the losing end of Friday's thriller, the Tigers backman was stellar in keeping his side in the contest.

Led the game with 31 disposals and 808 metres gained, while also got forward and booted a nice long-range goal.

Liam Jones

Makes our Team of the Week for the second round in a row after another solid outing, this time coming against the Suns.

A key contributor to double the Blues' premiership points tally for the season, amassing 16 possessions and 11 marks.

Jordan Ridley

Has been the pick of the bunch when it comes to defenders in 2021 and was magnificent once again albeit in a tight loss to the Swans.

The versatile defender had 28 touches against Sydney to go along with his eight marks and over 650 metres.

Lachie Ash

The Giants' young gun was influential in the club's first win of the season, playing a key role in his rotation through the backline.

Ended the night with 28 disposals, 11 marks and used the ball at 82% efficiency. Polled six MVP Votes for Round 4.

Aliir Aliir

Looks to be one of the best recruits of the season. Aliir stood tall against Tom Lynch and ended the night as one of the Power's best.

Had 23 touches and took six marks for his efforts.

Dan Houston

An all-round performance for the 23-year-old against the reigning premiers, amassing 23 touches, five marks, seven tackles and booted a brilliant goal late.

Has taken his game to a new level this year and seems to be getting better every week.

CENTRE

Lachlan Scholl

Led his side to a strong finish against the Kangaroos after a late scare, collecting the ball on 31 occasions while grabbing eight marks and scoring a lousy 160 SuperCoach points.

Showed great signs in his rookie season last year and looks to be showing no sign of the second-year blues.

Luke Parker

Had a huge opening term to set the bar early and played at a high level from there to lead his side to the win on Thursday.

Ended the night with 32 touches, 16 contested possession, seven marks, six clearances, one goal and three Brownlow votes.

Jack Macrae

It was another unstoppable effort by the Bulldogs' midfield and while we could have had a couple more in our side, we opted for Jack Mac' above the rest.

The silky onballer had another day out in Ballarat with 32 touches, eight tackles and a goal to poll 15 MVP votes.

FORWARD LINE

Christian Petracca

Put his hand up for player of the round for his dominant performance against Geelong on Sunday.

The bullish midfielder ended his day with 36 possessions (15 of which were contested), seven marks and nine clearances while also going forward and booting two goals.

Tim English

The tall timber that is Tim English looks to be an unstoppable threat for the Bulldogs when placed as a forward, turning Luke Beveridge's attack into a triple threat offence alongside Aaron Naughton and Josh Bruce.

With a game-high three goals, English was superb in playing his role and is sure to earn further plaudits for his efforts come the end of the season.

Nat Fyfe

Didn't quite have the day he was hoping for in front of goal, ending his night with 0.6 to his name, but the two-time Brownlow Medal winner was a constant threat for the Dockers both in the engine room and going forward.

Should he have brought his shooting boots, it would have been a long day for the Hawks. Nevertheless, Fyfe managed to attract the pill on 31 occasions to go along with 14 contested touches, and six clearances.

Toby Greene

Was best afield for the Giants in their five-goal win over the Magpies at the MCG and was the literal difference maker, booting 5.1.

Also chipped in with eight clearances, four tackles and four marks to steer his side to their first win of the season.

Max King

Was sensational when called-upon, booting 5.2 to aid the Saints to a triumphant victory against the fancied Eagles.

St Kilda's forward line caused plenty of havoc for the West Coast defenders as they looked to have no answer for the young key-forward.

Bayley Fritsch

Was vital to the Demons' early lead and held his own throughout the four quarters to boot 4.1 from 14 possessions.

Took a nice grab and was a constant threat to the scoreboard in what was another dazzling performance for Melbourne.

FOLLOWERS

Reilly O'Brien

Was one of Adelaide's best and had the better of Todd Goldstein on Sunday, amassing 24 touches, eight marks, 31 hit-outs and a goal against the Kangaroos.

Also chimed in at the coalface with 15 contested touches and six clearances in his side's 41-point win.

Ed Curnow

Was the Blues' best against the Suns on Saturday night, collecting the ball on 32 occasions while also laying five tackles and booting a goal.

With Cripps and Walsh have quieter nights, the veteran onballer stood up in their absence and amassed eight clearances on the Gold Coast.

Callan Ward

Had a huge game against the Magpies on Saturday night despite sustaining an injury early on.

Bounced back with an astonishing 15-disposal second-quarter and ended the night with 37 touches, six marks and seven clearances.

INTERCHANGE

Brad Crouch

After a disappointing club debut for the Saints in Round 3, Crouch proved his worth to Brett Ratten with a dominant display in the midfield against the undermanned Eagles.

Ended the day with 26 touches and 12 tackles to aid the Saints to a much needed win.

Callum Mills

Makes our Team of the Week once again, this time coming on from the pine after another strong outing in midfield.

The move looks to be paying dividends for the Swans, with Mills amassing 25 touches and seven clearances while also managing to boot a major in his side's three-point victory.

Jack Steele

Like Crouch, Steele was a key contributor on the ball for the Saints in what was a tight contest prior until the men in the red, white and black ran away with it.

Will be fighting his fellow onballer for best-on-ground honours after collecting 33 times - 17 of which being contested.

Travis Boak

Led by example against the Tigers with 29 disposals, 13 contested possessions and seven clearances.

Is shaping up for another dominant season and could once again find himself on the podium come the conclusion of the Brownlow count.
