Richmond will recall ruck-forward Samson Ryan for Friday's Dreamtime at the 'G clash as coach Adem Yze looks to fill the void of two premiership talls.
The Tigers will name a young front third due to Lynch's absence, with the veteran Tiger sidelined due to delayed concussion symptoms in the wake of Round 10.
Yze will also need to shift the magnets to accommodate the loss of defender Noah Balta, who won't be able to play at the MCG on Friday night due to his imposed curfew.
Ryan will come into the side, likely being utilised as a forward target in Lynch's absence while also pinch-hitting in the ruck.
"Obviously, we've lost Noah Bolton and Tom Lynch, so we're going to be a really young side on a big stage, which is awesome," Yze said on Thursday.
"It's an awesome opportunity for a young side. I sat in the middle of the forward line meeting this morning and it felt like I was in a creche without 'Lynchy' in there.
"But that's the exciting part of it. They're going to be so raw and they've just got to help each other through it and they've got to grow and turn into men. We're trying to fast-track that, and what better way to do it than Friday night footy?
"It's hard to obviously fill Lynchy's shoes, and if Jonty Faull feels like he has to, then that's going to be too hard. So they've just got to share the load."
The loss of both Lynch and Balta will see the Tigers name one of their youngest lineups under Yze, who had weighed up potentially bringing Dion Prestia into the senior side in his first game back from injury.
But wanting to stick to the plan with Prestia's recovery from an Achilles injury trumped any selection concern for the Tigers, with Prestia instead set to play half a game in the VFL against Essendon's reserves on Saturday night.
"He's going to play half of a game over three quarters in VFL. So he will then be available for AFL selection," Yze said of the triple-premiership midfielder.
"So it's a really clear plan. We've got a lot of training volume into him in the last few weeks and now it's his first opportunity to go and get some game load into him.
"It's exciting. I'm not sure the last time he's played VFL, but he's bought into that. He was really receptive to that. He's a leader of our footy club.
"Hopefully he gets through, and as I said, he'll be available for selection a week later."
Forward Mykelti Lefau is set to play a full game in the VFL this week after getting through a half last week in his return from an ACL injury."
Fellow attacker Harry Armstrong is "flying" in the middle of a big training block, eyeing a return from a hamstring strain in over a month's time."
Richmond will host Essendon at the MCG on Friday night at 7:40pm (AEST) for the annual Dreamtime clash.
