Richmond's Josh Smillie will be sidelined for an extended period once again after suffering another quad issue, which the club says will take between 4-8 weeks to recover.
Smillie injured his quad during a rehab session while recovering from surgery on one of his quads which happened late last year.
The 19-year-old midfielder will spend up to two more months in the rehab group according to Richmond high performance manager Ben Serpell.
After losing young guns Taj Hotton (bone stress in hip, missing up to four months) and pick seven from last year's draft Sam Cumming (shoulder, four weeks), the Tigers' young midfield brigade has taken another hit.
"To be clear, it is not a re-injury of the injury which required surgery, and the young man himself is as disappointed as everyone else at the club is for him, given the work he has put in," Serpell said.
"We are on the right path with Josh. However, we also want to be conservative and anticipate that this will unfortunately extend his rehab by 4-8 weeks.
"We will have a clearer picture on this in the coming weeks."
Defender Nick Vlastuin has been listed as a test as he recovers from an ankle injury. He races the clock to be fit for Richmond's Round One clash against Carlton on March 12.
Meanwhile, star Fremantle midfielder Hayden Young has hobbled off the Cockburn ARC track on Tuesday.
Reports came from out West that the 24-year-old Docker had injured his lower right leg at training.
He reportedly then returned to the ground for some set shots before once again departing for the rooms.
