Geelong have locked away the services of young Geelong midfielder Brandan Parfitt until at least the end of the 2020 season.

The 20-year-old was already contracted until the end of this season, meaning his new extension is an additional one-year deal.

Parfitt has played 34 games for the Cats since debuting in round 1, 2017, and has career averages of 15.9 disposals, 4.0 tackles and 2.5 inside 50s per game.

Geelong's General Manager of Football Simon Lloyd told the club's website he's pleased to have been able to tie down Parfitt for another season.

“Brandan has a team-oriented focus and brings a lot of energy and excitement to the playing group,” Lloyd told geelongcats.com.au.

“A creative and an exciting playmaker, he consistently demonstrates a strong work ethic and a desire to take his football to an elite level.

“Over his two years at the club, Brandan has been heavily invested in our football program and where we are going as a group and we look forward to seeing that continue.”
