Xavier O'Halloran has reportedly inked a new deal with GWS, set to remain a Giant for the 2023 season, per reports from AFL Media's Josh Gabelich.
O'Halloran was selected with Pick 22 in the 2018 AFL draft and has since gone on to play 33 with the Giants, including 14 this season, but wasn't guaranteed a new contract as the Giants waited for a busy trade period to play out.
Both Tim Taranto and Jacob Hopper departed the club to head to Richmond, while Tanner Bruhn was traded to Geelong and Bobby Hill moved to Collingwood.
The Giants gained Toby Bedford from Melbourne, while they also possess a host of first round picks.
Under new coach Adam Kingsley, O'Halloran has finally been rewarded with a new contract now that the chaos of the trade period has played out. The 22-year-old averaged 10.2 disposals across his 14 games played in 2022.
The Giants are expected to confirm the new deal, and its length, in the coming days, per Gabelich.
