SEN's Dwayne Russell has locked six teams into making the 2020 finals.

Two rounds into the season, Port Adelaide, Essendon and North Melbourne are the only remaining unbeaten sides. However, Russell has just one of them secured in the top eight.

Speaking on SEN's Dwayne's World, Russell revealed the sides he believes are sure to feature in September.

“I reckon the top eight at the end of this season will have Collingwood, Richmond, the West Coast Eagles, Port Adelaide’s started well … I think they’ll make it as well – especially if they beat Fremantle on the weekend, the Giants and Brisbane,” Russell told SEN's Dwayne's World.

“There are six teams that will make the eight in my reckoning.”

He believes seven Victorian clubs will then battle it out for the final two spots in the eight, stating Essendon has the most upside of the lot.

“So that leaves two spots for these teams including Hawthorn, Melbourne, North Melbourne, St Kilda, Essendon, the Dogs and Geelong,” he added.

“North have won both games, Essendon’s won both games, the Saints had a really good performance on the weekend, but Collingwood is going to be a bit of an acid test for them.

“I think Essendon is the team that I would pick to finish higher of those three. I think they’ve got a huge upside.”
