The Eagles will have a plethora of picks in the upcoming National Draft; a hand that could potentially grow in size if captain Oscar Allen departs via restricted free agency this off-season.

However, the loss of several key talls in recent years, such as defender Tom Barrass last off-season, means the Eagles will need to weigh up whether they target list needs primarily or the best talent available come draft night.

The Eagles currently hold picks 1, 14, 19, 32 and 50 with highly touted midfielder Willem Duursma lurking as their best bet with the first selection.

"I think Willem Duursma that they should be targeting," Craft of the Draft analyst Jonty Ralphsmith said.

"He suits the next generation of footy really well. He's got that run as a transition midfielder and he's a really hard worker as well. He's got that versatility.

However, according to Ralphsmith, the Eagles have a number of Next Generation Academy talent to consider as well.

"It's worth touching on the fact that they've got Koby Evans and Wes Walley in their Next Generation Academy. Koby Evans is a midfielder and Wes Walley is a small forward so that strengthens up parts of the ground," Ralphsmith said.
