West Coast has reportedly expressed interested in banned Essendon player David Myers.

FoxSports has reported that Myers, one of the 34 past and present Essendon players suspended for 12 months, could leave the club when his contract expires at season's end.

The 26-year-old, who was drafted from Western Australia, will be an unrestricted free agent when his 12-month ban expires and could walk away from the club without Essendon being able to match the offer.

Myers played only two matches last season due to shoulder and back injuries, but enjoyed a career best 2014, averaging 20 disposals a game.

The Bombers are reportedly optimistic of keeping Myers and have assured him of a contract offer for 2017.
