West Australian prospect snaps agility record: AFL Draft Combine results

Speedy, versatile teen Darcy Jones ran a rapid 7.70 seconds in the agility test at Margaret Court Arena during the weekend's AFL Draft Combine, a time narrowly faster than Stephen Hill's previous record of 7.77 seconds in 2008.

After also recording an equal-first standing vertical jump at 75cm, Jones has significantly improved his draft status, gaining recognition from scouts and the general public after his displays of athleticism.

Jones featured on the interchange bench of this year's U/18 All-Australian Team after a dominant year at the WAFL Colts level with Swan Districts. At 175cm, Jones is a competitive contested player who showcases speed and agility while accumulating touches at a high volume and hitting the scoreboard.

He earned praise for being selected in the WAFL Colts Team of the Year in 2021 as a bottom-aged player and has since impressed recruiters with his ability despite his size.

Projected as a potential top-30 pick in the upcoming National Draft, Jones has put himself on the radar of many clubs and now awaits selection in less than two months' time.
