Premiership player and media personality Kane Cornes has revealed the rude surprise he received last Saturday night in the form of an abusive text message from industry foe and Adelaide Crows forward Taylor Walker, as part of the latest development in the war-of-words feud between the two.

Cornes stated he was travelling home from an NBL game on the weekend, with his children also present in the vehicle when the text message was sent from Walker's mobile phone.

"My phone beeped, it was sitting in the car holder. We looked at it and it read: 'You are a weak c---'," Cornes told SEN Sportsday.

"I was like, 'my goodness what have I done now?' I get prank calls a lot, usually from private numbers as people are smart enough to hide their identity.

"I thought I'm going to call it and the boys thought it was hilarious so I did."

Walker did not answer Cornes' phone call, however the former Port Adelaide stalwart was able to confirm that the phone number belonged to the Crows key forward.

Cornes and Walker's disdain for each other is no secret, and there has been an abundance of back-and-forth between the pair over the course of recent years.

In 2019, Cornes stated about Walker: "I can't stand him ... and not many other people can either." Cornes has also previously labelled 'Tex' as "mentally fragile".

Cornes revealed that he'd previously been a victim of Walker and his friends' pranks, however, Walker had never made it this easy for Cornes to trace it back to him.

"He has pranked me before but he was smart enough to hide his number," Cornes said.

"I don't know what I have done.

"I would have thought at his age he may have been more mature than that, particularly with the record he has had recently but clearly on Saturday night Taylor Walker was busy on the phone."

It isn't currently known what caused Walker to send the distasteful message, with Walker and the Crows yet to comment on the matter.
