Demons coach Simon Goodwin has expressed his frustrations following his side's draw with 17th-placed Hawthorn on Saturday night.
Melbourne were edging closer to a 14th win for the season before the Hawks snatched a late tie thanks to a last-minute Luke Breust major.

The result was a major boost for the Hawks, but added a dint to the Demons' push for a minor premiership, with Goodwin's side now placed just two points ahead of the Western Bulldogs atop the perch of the ladder.
The outcome of Saturday's 79-all draw once again sparked debate to whether the AFL should introduce an alternative to both side's sharing premiership points.
Speaking post-match, Goodwin said the league should look to dump the draw and look into introducing a method to decide the result.
“I like to see a result. We play the game to win. If you look at the last centre bounce of the game, we were setting up to try and win the game,” Goodwin said, per The Age.
“That’s the way I like our team to try and think and how we want to operate. I think our supporters and fans would love that as well, to be able to see a result at the end of the day.
“However that may take place, as a competition I think we should look at it.”
AFL finals matches are decided with two five-minute periods of extra-time in the result of a draw, with 'golden-point' coming into play should both clubs remain level at the conclusion of the second extra-time period.
Goodwin's coaching counterpart Alastair Clarkson also expressed his disappointment in the outcome of the match, lamenting his side's lack of reward for laying a season-high tally of tackles against the Demons.
The Hawks were awarded just the three holding-the-ball free kicks from 81 tackles across the match.
The tie places the Demons back at the summit of the league, while further separates the Hawks' gap over cellar dwellers North Melbourne.
The Demons will look to further strengthen their bid for a premiership next weekend when they face Gold Coast at Metricon Stadium on Saturday, July 24.
