The Western Bulldogs are the latest club attempting to lure retired Port Adelaide star Travis Boak to their headquarters, joining Collingwood, GWS and Sydney.

Boak hung up the boots after 387 games for the Power at the end of their 2025 season, but has said that after a holiday, he'd like to return to football circles.

"I've got a rough idea that I want to stay in the mindset and life-coaching and performance-coaching space. I'd love to be in sport still," said Boak.

"And some part in corporate and business as well, where we can help people define their identity outside of what they do, and I've been able to learn a lot through that, and now I can hopefully share that knowledge with someone else.

"There's been a handful (who have gotten in contact), whether that's in Melbourne, whether that's here. I'm not sure yet, so I've still got to figure out where I want to be," said Boak.

The Giants and Swans were the first cabs off the rank, discussing potential assistant and development coaching positions, as well as exploring leadership and culture roles. Collingwood reportedly followed suit shortly after.

The Bulldogs, according to SEN's Sam Edmund, are now looking into the possibility of welcoming Boak to the Whitten Oval.

If the Footscray-based club were to pull it off, it could play a major role in helping attract Zak Butters to Victoria.

Butters has strong links to Western Victoria, growing up in Darley, and is largely seen as a gettable prospect to the Bulldogs.
