Collingwood is the Victorian club that continues to be linked to a move to the impending Western Australia hub, according to 7 News' Mark Stevens.

The league will on Thursday or Friday this week publicly release the fixtures for Round 6 and 7.

At least one other Victoria club will make the move west, with Richmond, Melbourne and Essendon all ruled out given they have either already played in or have upcoming games against the WA clubs.

The Magpies have already faced the Western Bulldogs and St Kilda, while North Melbourne and Hawthorn are still exploring the possibility of playing games in Tasmania.

That leaves either Carlton or Geelong as the two other potential options if the Pies are WA-bound.

It comes as the WA government gave the green light forย Optus Stadium to be able to host up to 30,000 fans as early as this weekend after entering phase four of easing coronavirus restrictions.

It would pave the way for Fremantle and West Coast to host as many as 30,000 fans as early as Round 6 following their four-week stay at the Gold Coast hub finishes.

WA is aiming to fill Optus Stadium to its full capacity of up to 60,000 in less than a month.

West Coast and Fremantle will reportedly be made to stay in their QLD hub for the to-be-determined Round 6 fixture, but will leave straight after.

Upon returning, the WA clubs will be allowed to isolate at their homes and there are plans for them to play off in a Round 7 Derby in front of a packed Optus Stadium on Sunday, July 19, according to AFL Media's Damian Barrett.
