Frankston Dolphins youngster Tom Blamires is reportedly on the radar of multiple AFL clubs, including West Coast.

Blamires took out the 2025 Fothergill-Round-Mitchell Medal as the VFL best young player in his first season with the Dolphins.

Blamires departed Sandringham at the end of last year in favour of a move to Frankston, where he has enjoyed a breakout campaign as a hard-running flank option.

According to AFL Media's Josh Gabelich, the 23-year-old has garnered interest from the Eagles after playing 21 games for Frankston, averaging 24.5 disposals and 4.1 tackles to be named in the VFL team of the year.

If Blamires were to be selected by an AFL club, it would continue an 18-year trend of Fothergill-Round-Mitchell Medallists heading to the top-flight after securing the award.
Western Bulldogs winger Sam Davidson is the latest name to achieve the feat, while the likes of Kane Lambert (Richmond), Luke Ryan (Fremantle) and Bayley Fritsch (Melbourne) are some of the biggest prospects.

The Eagles secured additional rookie spots thanks to a robust assistance package from the AFL, allowing them to significantly enhance their roster with promising new talent.

Blamires is currently working at Collingwood in the commercial sales team.

The 23-year-old revealed that he received some guidance from veteran midfielder Adam Treloar.

Blamires caught the eye of Treloar, and recruiters, in a game against Footscray Bulldogs in the VFL finals.

"It was unbelievable, to be honest," Blamires told AFL Trade Radio.

"I kind of just was sitting at work at Collingwood on the Monday or Tuesday, and I got a text from his manager, Tim (Hazell), which was very nice of him to do.

"He just said, ‘Hey mate, I got this from Adam Treloar', and it was six to eight dot points of what I'm really good at, and six to eight dot points of what I can improve on.

"Even just getting a text from Adam, let alone in-depth tips from him, it was just unbelievable.

"It just kind of once again reassured me that (I have a chance to make it), if someone like him is putting in the time and effort."
