An ugly incident among fans following Richmond's 33-point win over Carlton on Thursday night has put a dampener on the AFL's season opening fixture.
Vision has surfaced of a brawl in the Great Southern Stand between supporters, with a number of people involved in the incident.
Following the incident on Thursday night, Victoria Police released a statement addressing the altercation, with one male receiving a fine for his involvement.
"A 19-year-old man was arrested following an alleged assault at a football match at the Melbourne Cricket Ground last night," the statement began.
"It is alleged a fight broke out between a number of males inside the stadium just before 10.30pm.
"An Eltham man received an infringement notice in regards to riotous behaviour $322.
"The victim's did not wish to proceed with further police action."
