We're a week closer to the AFL sign and trade period, but 10 clubs have already begun their off-season and made subsequent list calls as they prepare for 2023.
With both clubs and players now assessing their futures, we've seen two players officially request moves to rival clubs in the past week, while several sides have confirmed delistings to shape their squad.
The past week has also seen the rumour mill in overdrive, with the Cats, Magpies, Crows and Giants among the clubs set to heavily feature in the trade and free agency windows.

Rankine requests SA return
Gold Coastย small forwardย Izak Rankine has requested a trade to theย Adelaideย Crows, with the Suns alerted to the forward's choice as the club commenced their annual exit meetings.
Gold Coast confirmed that the South Australian had come to the choice to depart Carrara within a brief statement released on Tuesday morning.
โWe have created a football club where our players and staff are committed to success, so weโre disappointed with his decision,โ General Manager Player Talent and Strategyย Craig Cameronย said.
โWeโve provided an environment and support network around Izak since he was drafted to help him play his best football and itโs disappointing that journey wonโt continue.โ
The fledgling franchise also claimed that their next month would be spent securing the best possible package in exchange for Rankine's services.

Amon set for Hawks switch
Departingย Portย Adelaideย free agentย Karl Amonย has nominatedย Hawthornย as his club of choice ahead of the AFL's sign and trade period.
Amon has gained interest from several Victorian clubs throughout the course of this season, with the Hawks, Saints, Blues and Demons all being linked to the East Sandringham product.
Portย Adelaideย confirmed this week that the 27-year-old would exercise his rights as a free agent this off-season, leaving the Power after nine seasons in South Australia.
Amon has officially nominated Hawthornย as his preferred club for 2023 and beyond.
"It's certainly great news for the club to hear that Karl wants to be a part of what we are building here atย Hawthorn," Hawks list manager Mark McKenzie said in a club statement.ย

Crouch weighing up trade requestย
Adelaideย midfielderย Matt Crouchย is weighing up a decision to potentially request a trade out of West Lakes at season's end.
Crouch is contracted to the Crows for next season, having turned down an option to explore free agency 12 months ago to re-sign with the club that drafted him in 2013.
But now facing a crossroads in his career, with Nicks showing a preference for other onballers in his midfield pecking order, Crouch has a decision to make on his future.
"As I've said consistently throughout the whole season I don't want to be playing SANFL footy, I want to be playing AFL footy," Crouch toldย 10 News.ย
"That's a decision I've got to weigh up."

Taranto race takes new turnย
Richmondย are currently leading the race to obtain the services ofย Tim Tarantoย should he leaveย GWSย in the upcoming trade period.
Speaking onย Triple M, Browne revealed that the Pies have cooled on their pursuit of Taranto, instead casting their eyes towards another Giant inย Bobby Hill.
"It's betweenย Richmondย andย Collingwood," Browne said.
"It's my understanding that Collingwoodย have slightly cooled onย Tim Tarantoย and according to a well placed trade source this morning is now putting it's energy intoย Bobby Hill.
"I think Taranto is now leaning towardsย Richmond."
The uncontracted Taranto has played 16 games for theย Giantsย this season, averaging 25.4 disposals, 3.8 clearances and 4.8 tackles per game.

Cats set sights on young Roo
Kangarooย Bailey Scottย has been linked with a move to theย Geelong Cats.
He has thrived as a flank player this season, averaging a career-high 18 disposals per game and has played 46 games for the Roos.
However, despite North offering a multi-year dear to remain at Arden street, the 22-year-old has been linked with a move down the highway to Kardinia Park, per reports fromย The Herald Sun.
New North coachย Alastair Clarksonย would ideally like to keep the promising talented player, butย Geelongย is reportedly already in talks with Scott's management.
Geelongย has been linked to several players ahead of the 2022 trade period, with players such asย GWSย midfielderย Jacob Hopperย andย Collingwoodย ruckmanย Brodie Grundyย linked to the club.

Power, Roos linked with premiership Eagle
Portย Adelaideย are reportedly interested in unsignedย West Coastย forwardย Junior Rioli, with the two clubs meeting for preliminary trade talks earlier in the week.
Rioli already has a multi-year deal on the table from the Eagles, per reports fromย afl.com.au, but is still yet to make a decision on his future, with Port andย Northย Melbourneย both expressing interest.
The premiership Eagle is no stranger to football in South Australia, playing for Glenelg in the SANFL prior to being picked up by the Eagles in the 2016 draft.
While Rioli is yet to recommit to the club,ย West Coastย coachย Adam Simpsonย is hoping the forward will remain an Eagle beyond 2022.

Giants eye Demon as potential Hill replacementย
GWSย are reportedly already making moves on the player market, with theย Sydneyย side reportedly showing interestย Melbourneย small forwardย Toby Bedford.
With the talismanicย Bobby Hillย alsoย expected to request a trade to Collingwood, they are in dire need of reinforcements, withย The Herald Sunย linking theย Giantsย to Bedford's services.
While the 22-year-old has shown promise as an agile and crafty crumber, he has been deprived of opportunity in the talented Melbourneย forward line.
Small forwards are increasingly important in the modern game not just for their goalscoring ability but also for the defensive pressure they bring. As someone who prides himself on his tackling, Bedford is well suited to play this role.
This is likely the first of many moves the Giants look to make, however, they may gain some competition for Bedford's services given Essendon's recent interestย in the young Demon.

Blues table deal for Docker as rival interest spikesย
Carlton has tabled a deal for in-demand Dockerย Blake Acresย after his career-best season, per theย West Australian, reportedly putting more money on the table than their trade rivals.
Reports from theย West Australianย suggest that while the Dockers have tabled a two-year deal worth around $200,000 and $300,000 per season to the wingman, the Blues have offered a three-year, $350,000 contract to lure him back to Victoria.
Carlton is not the only club interested in Acres though, with bothย Geelongย andย Northย Melbourneย keeping a keen eye on the 26-year-old.
Acres has impressed throughout 2022, averaging 21.3 disposals, 5.6 marks and 2.8 tackles across his 18 outings and has been the subject of plenty of trade speculation.

Brown brothers gaining attention of rival clubs
Collingwoodย pair Callum andย Tyler Brownย remain "in a bit of limbo at the moment" as they await contract calls for 2023.
The father-son siblings face an uncertain time atย Collingwoodย ahead of the trade period as reports surface there are no forthcoming deals on the Magpies' part.
"Theyโre in a bit of limbo at the moment,"ย AFL Media'sย Cal Twomey toldย SEN Breakfast.
"Theyโre yet to receive contract offers for next year. Clubs are taking a bit of a look at them at this point."
The duo are among a lengthy list of Magpies youngsters still unsigned for next season, joining Ollie Henry,ย Trent Bianco,ย Isaac Chugg,ย Will Kelly and Caleb Poulter.

Saints get green light for De Goey pursuit
St Kilda's board has given the club's recruiting department the go-ahead in their pursuit of Collingwoodย free agentย Jordan De Goey.
A report fromย The Ageย states that the Saints are keen on a number of free agents as they look to improve on their 10th placed finish this season.
De Goey recently had a contract offer fromย Collingwood withdrawn following a video of him in Bali during the bye week became public. The removal of that offer has seemingly opened the door for the Saints even if it's only slightly.
According to the report, Collingwood are much more enticed by the idea of keeping De Goey in the black and white than they were just a few months ago.

An 0-5 start to the season all but endedย Portย Adelaide's finals hopes for 2022, and, despite a much-improved rest of the season, Ken Hinkley's side would finish in 11th with a 10-12 record - eight points outside the top eight.
