After another heartbreaking defeat for Richmond on Saturday, Triple M's The Hot Breakfastย castย want to make a change to the scoring system that would have seen the Tigers hold on to the four points.

Eddie McGuire, Luke Darcy and Richmond tragic Mick Molloy all agreed with the new change, which would have seen Shai Bolton's touched behind upon review stay a goal.

"I want to take the pain out of things," McGuire said.

"We are overturning umpires decisions from a camera that is two dimensional - that is over 150m away.

"Trying to say that someoneโ€™s finger has been bent back from so far away gets a bit ridiculous.

"If the ball goes through - regardless of whether the ball is touched off the boot or bounces off the post - if it goes through the big sticks itโ€™s a goal."

Darcy agreed with McGuire's call, saying that it would be like every other code including soccer and rugby.

Molloy sided with McGuire too, and said that while rushed behinds may need to be put in a different basket, the overall idea would be a positive change for the game.

"Eventually a Grand Final will be decided by one of these issues and itโ€™s gonna be controversial. This takes the umpire out. Itโ€™s clear, empirical evidence," Molloy said.

"It takes all the pain out of it."
